In the past, Norton Internet Security blocked internet-access of new security- and stability releases of Mozilla Firefox because of late updates of firewall-signatures [1].
Now there is a critical bug reported over blocking Firefox 3 bookmarks and history (lost) by Norton because of locking the file places.sqlite [bug 452469 - Symantec Norton 360 locks sqlite files...], so that Firefox 3-users can't use the new features of the smartlocation bar.

My personal workaround:
Download and run the Norton Removal Tool
(written by Norton himself).
